Inspired Home Office

Tired of getting great ideas and not using them?

You have a lot to do in your business.

I have too many projects going on at the same time, too many ideas to follow up on...

My work in progress sometimes devolves into chaos and clutter. It ends up staying out while I'm doing other work, and next thing I know, my desk and the floor around it are swamped.

I grab a scrap of paper here, there, wherever, and make some important notes on it. Then pretty promptly lose it!

Sound familiar?

Most people believe organization is a rigid, perfectionistic formula. For most creative entrepreneurs, that's just too inflexible and hard to maintain.

A softer organizing approach is more like brain anatomy with its cross-wired neural pathways. It has structure, but is also flexible and accommodating.

You don't have to sacrifice creativity to be effective.

What you need is a new frame. It's time to drop the belief that there's something wrong with you because you keep coming up with new ways to do things and new, brilliant ideas.

It's time to work with it.

You're going to create new stuff anyway. And you're still going to get sidetracked. You can discover a new way for this fluidness to work for you and your business.

Who are you?

Me? I'm Jen Hofmann, the most structure-resistant entrepreneur ever. My whole life, my creativity was stifled by well meaning teachers, advisors, and mentors. "Bah!" I told them. "I'll show you!" And I went on my defiant and merry way, ignoring their advice to set goals for my business and be organized about it.

Before I started doing the work in this program, I was getting miserable, inconsistent results in my business. I felt like every sucess was an accident and every failure was mine.

The interesting thing is that like me, you're no dummy. You're super-bright. And even with that, I couldn't figure out how to take an idea and turn it into reality without getting repeatedly sidetracked.

So, I abdoned everything I thought knew about goals and started fresh.

And so can you.

The Personalized Office Program

The Personalized Office Program is designed for you to see a dramatic difference in your office functionality and project follow-through within a 12-week period.

What's included:

  • A 90-minute planning meeting to unearth your specific challenges and illuminate your vision
  • A list that breaks down your vision into specific action steps
  • 60-minute meetings every week, with tasks to complete before the next phone session
  • Additional assignments and worksheets
  • Unlimited email support, with access to my personal email address and phone number
  • A 60-minute wrap-up session that includes ideas for a future action plan

Many people work in damage-control mode on a daily basis, putting out one fire after another. Changing these established patterns requires commitment and continuity over a period of time.

The Personalized Office Program isn't a quick fix. Instead, it gives you the opportunity look deeply and comprehensively at what you need so you can build systems that create stability and growth for your business.

What it costs

First and foremost, your time.

You must be ready to work on your space for at least an hour and a half each week, in addition to meetings and check-in emails. This is the best way to get results.

Secondly, money.

Budget: While there is no requirement to purchase additional furnishings, organizing supplies, or decorative embellishments, you may find that allowing yourself a budget will create spaciousness in your planning (even if you don't use any of it).

Program fees: The 12 week program is $180 per month and 2 spots are currently available. The first payment is due before we begin to meet. The remaining two payments are automatically deducted each month from your choice of a credit or debit card.

Case Study:

Mark Silver, Portland, OR - Heart of Business

Before we started working together, my office was okay... except that the piles would come and multiply at night. It was fairly common that I couldn't see my desktop, and that I would go into overwhelm trying to track everything that was going on- projects and tasks like snowflakes, everywhere... It was hard to get to the proactive, creative projects that really support the business to grow and develop.

Not to mention how many emails and little details, little to me, but big to the clients or customers affected, kept getting dropped. Ugh! It felt horrible!

I had some doubts that it could work over the phone - I have to admit. I there are places I need real hand-holding, and I doubted that phone support would really work.

Working with you, well, short of a cure for cancer... I don't mean to be flippant, but it's totally transformed my day-to-day working. My office is neat and organized, and stays that way. My digital files are getting more organized and easier to navigate every day. And this means that I'm effective, I'm on task, and when I do procrastinate, I no longer have the excuse of cleaning up my office- because it's already there.

Truly amazing to see that I can have a work environment that fits me and molds itself to how I best work.

And here's the best thing: a lot of the overwhelm has disappeared. Even though I still have the same number of things to do, and I still can't get finished everything I need to - the fact is that now everything has a home, and nothing is getting dropped, forgotten or lost, means that when I quit for the day, whether it's at noon, 5pm or 8pm, I can leave feeling relaxed, knowing that it will still be there, tomorrow, and I don't have to track it all in my head.

If a successful business owner was considering working with you [Jen], I'd say "Shut up, pay the money, let her work on you." :) Really, there are lots of internal blockages to efficiency, and I do a lot of them. And yet, if the office itself doesn't match how you work, what's gonna stick? The efficiency or the mess?

How much time do I spend in my office each week? Don't ask... if I'm going to spend that much time in it, it better be a place of refuge, of nourishment, and it better be something that I enjoy being in, that really, really works. So shut up and work with her already. ;-) That's from the heart.
